I was always jealous of Ernie's '57 Chevy convertible. His obit notes Ernie's math-head nature, which showed up most annoyingly when we played cards. He was a close friend, and will be missed greatly.
THanks, Kristi, for posting the link to Ernie's obituary. I wish we had same for all our departed classmates. I remember Erie as a good looking and friendly kid -- somewhat shy (or perhaps only among classmates who didn't know him that well. I think his reputation was as one of the good ones! In any event, good to know his life was bountiful.
I remember Ernie from elementary school at Johanna and Island Lake as we often sat near each other. I was Erickson and with his Foerster we were in close proximity and he was always fun and easy to talk with. Thanks for posting his obituary, Kristi. He lived a good life, a credit to his family, and may he rest in peace. I'm going to try to post our 4th grade class photo from Johanna and the names of classmates I had recorded sometime along the way. Ernie is in the back row on the far left.
Ernie was one the first people to befriend me when I started at Johanna. We both enjoyed a good game of golf and we shared an ability to forget strokes. Dave Sekhon,Paul Christopherson Ernie and I would be off before the sun came up on many a Saturday. Later Ernie and I worked at Harkins Golf Driving Range and shared a lot of late nights picking balls on the range. Great memories and I will miss him.
I started Johanna Grade school in 4th grade and Ernie was in my classes from Johanna, Edgewood and on to Mounds View. Great guy, always had a smile and neat Corvette
Fondly remember a plethora of HERTS games played in the hallways of the U of M IT's engineering buildings.. A friend both at Mounds View and the U of M.

Ernie was one of the first guys to catch my eye. I remember him sitting in front of me in my HS German class. Here is his obit: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/centennial-co/ernest-foerster-10659422
