John P. Miller

John Paul Miller

Miller, John Paul John, son of James Lawrence and Marie Dufresne Miller died unexpectedly on February 23, 2021. An independent spirit, born July 25, 1947, he grew up in Arden Hills, MN attending public school and then joining the U.S. Army. Following his active duty, he volunteered for the National Guard for 20 years. He said a favorite memory of his service was "staying up for 48 hours on caffeine and nicotine." John's ready smile greeted people when they first met. There was no better partner for Trivial Pursuit, and he could play the pegs off almost anyone in cribbage. John, who was genial until you tried to boss him, loved his Harry Potter and Louis L'Amour. He valued the long-time friendships he made at the Dominic Club. His family would like to send out a very special thanks to the staff at the "Old Soldiers Home" (Minnesota Veterans Home- Mpls.) where he lived the last 8 years of his life; he had a measure of contentment and peace there like no other place. Uncle John, or "Uncle Bucko" to some, loved to hear the news about his nephews and nieces, and they held a special place in his heart. John's memory is treasured, and his spirit is missed, by his 11 brothers and sisters and their families.
