Wahl, Terrill Robert age 67 of St. Paul, MN and formerly of New Brighton, MN. Passed away on April 9th, 2015. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Reinhold and Evangaline Wahl. Born June 3rd, 1947 in Minneapolis and raised on the mean streets of New Brighton, Terry was a graduate of 1965 Mounds View High School only because they hadn't built the far superior Irondale High School yet. Terry joined the Navy after high school, where he served as a Communications Technician. Post Navy, he joined the fencing industry (think chain link not poking people) and quickly fell into the roll of estimator, where he spent his entire career. Bidding large-scale jobs including prisons and schools, he was personally responsible for keeping prisoners and future prisoners off the streets. If Terry had bid Shawshank, Andy Dufresne would still be trapped there. When they create the Minnesota Fencing Hall of Fame, he should be the first inductee. Which begs the question - why isn't there already a Minnesota Fencing Hall of Fame? If you met Terry, you received his homemade jerky. As a jerky artist, he was not tied down by the lack of imagination of the "big jerky" industry. Shrimp jerky, salmon jerky, and onion jerky were all Terry Wahl signatures. His culinary experimentation did not stop at jerky. Jello shots led to pudding shots. Drinking is for simple people; imbibing by spoon is for sophisticates. Generous, kind, and cantankerous could all be used to describe Terry, who will be missed by family and his many friends. He is survived by the five children that he knew of, daughters Robyn (Eric), Caitlyn, and sons Jason (Becky), Andrew, and Tyler, grandchildren Riley, Veronica, Sophia, Gannon, Graham, and Easton, and siblings Larry and Linnea. Terry will be laid to rest in Fort Snelling Cemetery Friday, April 17th at 12:15 pm. A casual memorial service for friends and family is pending. www.caringbridge.org/ visit/terrywahl

Terry got me involved in the reunion committee back in 1999.  We all agreed his jerky and jello/pudding shots were great and always appreciated. He was always a riot back in high school and years after. He was one of a kind. I know he will be missed by us all.
